KILLER WEEKEND

My next thriller, Killer Weekend, is finished and in production at Putnam, for publication spring/summer 2007. It features Walt Fleming, Blaine County Sheriff in Idaho, and is the first of a new series. The first novel involves a nationally known business conference and a woman politician from NY state announcing her candidacy for president. Discussion?

Killer Weekend sounds great because I've been having Ridley withdrawals but....I need more Boldt/Matthews! I am soooo sad that I have to wait so long before I can read more about them. Come on Ridley, help me out here.

You little devil. What does the "real" Walt Femling think about all this?

"...a story ripped from the headlines!!" Although this will sound like the person writing this is sucking up a bit... from you, Mr. P., anything will be fresh and a highly suspenseful, stay-up-late-to-finish book, I am more than sure! Can we hurry up that release date any???

Good luck!!

Boldt is never far off. I have every intention of writing more Boldts. For the next (after Killer Weekend) it will be a Walt, however. Publishers, you know....

OK. So I'm thinking maybe we're whining abot not enough Boldt to the wrong person. What we should be doing is writing the publisher about it! Yeah, that's it. We'll e-mail them to death. Who are these evil gate keepers, and how do I contact them?

I must have been braindead or just very tired when I tried to post a comment here last night and couldn't manage it, because when I emailed you to tell you, Ridley, I referred to The Poet. I meant, of course, The Pied Piper, which I love, and confused it with Michael Connelly's work. I am sorry. Although maybe you don't mind too much being confused with Mr. Connelly?

Anyway, I've finally made it on to this blog and only want to say I think KILLER WEEKEND is a fabulous title. The new setting and character sound inspired and full of potential. The name Walt Fleming has a nice ring to it, and I look forward to reading this new series. Your characters always walk right off the page for me, so I have no problem with a new one.

Knowing how long and hard you work, and what a gifted writer you are, I'm sure KILLER WEEKEND will be a winner.

Darlene- I too am a Michael Connelly fan. He has a new Bosch coming out this fall ( I think). This will help us in our wait for Killer Weekend, which I agree sounds good. I'm sure it will be great and it sounds like a follow-up won't be far behind.

Micheal is SO GOOD. Love his books. And yeah, Pam: if you want Boldt sooner, then you need A LOT of people to write Putnam (publisher) and DEMAND it. I'm willing and able.

Just tell me who & where and I'm on it! I might also mention that I'd like to see the original follow up to Cut and Run (You know, the way the author concieved and wrote it).

Ok I get it. Guess Putnam will be hearing from me soon. I want more Boldt ( I wonder what he's been up to these past few years? And LaMoia and Matthews??? Did they stay 'hooked up'? What about the kids? How old are they now?) I really need to find Putnams email addy!

If I give you the email or phone, they'd fire me. But if you write them on your own...

Could you tell me if I should write to Putnam or Hyperion? I noticed my Boldt books were by Hyperion.

Putnam will eventually carry on the Boldt line, I believe. Unless we cut a deal for Hyperion to go straight to trade paperback with a Boldt novel, something I've debated...

If you write it, we will buy it! (and read it of course, and debate it endlessly!)

OK, let's see. Write Putnam and scream for a Boldt. Read Killer Weekend with new great characters (Ridley couldn't have anything but great characters). Start reading the five Michael Connelly books in my TBR pile, since Killer Weekend is not this weekend.

Geez, this gets confusing. But I can wait, tap, tap, tap, oh Worthog1!
