OK..I took it. I'm going to put it under the arch on August 22, the day we are suppose to all see Allah.

Well, maybe I didn't take it, but someone should send these people some new family members.

Check the french restaurants for giant frogs with prosthetic legs.

Anyone check the road for splat!! marks?

Rather than taking it, I would have deflated it and stretched it across a couple lanes of traffic!

THAT would have been cool....

F5! Haven't seen you for awhile. Now I remember why I used to wonder about you...
Hope you're well, buddy. Have you read any of Ridley's non-Barry-co-written books?

"What do you really do with a 30-foot-wide frog that wears sunglasses?"

Oh, dear. Is that a question you really want to ask on a family station?

This little froggy went courtin’
This little froggy stayed home
This little froggy had sunglasses
This little froggy had none
And THIS little froggy went PSHH! PSHH! PSHH!, all the way home.

Boo, your Cruise Director Supremo writes ...
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to fabulous and exotic (Dead Parrots Society) Prime Crime blog. Please mind your step as you disembark; I believe someone spilled some butt butter on the gangway. Ted McGinley will be taking snap-shots throughout the excursion. You can preview the shots tomorrow morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. on the Lido Deck.

Please remember these eight simple rules to make your stay safe and pleasurable:

1. DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. We don’t know where it’s been.

2. Respect the native culture no matter how silly the names sound. Do not poke the natives with a stick or offer them food. Make Fearless LEader proud.

3. Keep your valuables securely stowed and fastened betwixt your ramparts at all times to reduce the threat of pick-pockets. If you do not have ramparts with adequate storage capabilities, pair up with a rampart buddy and share.

4. If Charo is your designated tour group leader, please carry extra bail money, net and tranquilizer gun with darts. You will most likely need them.

5. Talk Like a Pirate Day was September 19. Further gratuitous use of pirate names and/or pirate speak is just stupid. Stop it now.

6. Stick to the post at the top of the page. Don’t make us come looking for you. Extraction costs are not included in the shore excursion fee.

7. (Monty Python) French references are quite obvious. References to (Dead Poets Society) Prime Crimes do not require much depth either. Please use restraint.

8. When shopping for local crafts and souvenirs – bead necklaces, reed baskets, velvet Elvis paintings and Jesus-Virgin Mary-Last Supper images on lacquered driftwood – your are expected to bargain. It is an insult to the vendor if you pay retail.

The (Love) Terror Moat resumes (sets sail) promptly at 9:00 a.m. EST (because that’s the only time zone that really counts). We don’t intend to send the chopper back for any stragglers so keep up with your respective tour group.

Dead Parrot Society ... good times

Frogger anyone?

Heard the one about the scientest that trained his frog to jump on command?

Cut off one leg and said "jump frog, jump".

The frog jumped 1 meter.

Scientest writes this down and cuts off another leg. Says, "jump frog, jump".

The frog jumped .5 meter.

Scientest writes this down and cuts off another leg. Says, "jump frog, jump".

The frog jumped .25 meter.

Scientest writes this down and cuts off another leg. Says, "jump frog, jump".

The frog doesn't jump.

Scientest says again, "jump frog, jump".

The frog doesn't jump.

Scientest writes down, "Frogs with no legs are deft."

... shucks, you did?

Deft or deaf, kibby?

Wooohoo! All ashore that's coming ashore! The Dead Frogs (wbagnfarb) Road Trip and Blog Invasion has begun!

Blogger Kafaleni said...

Also - not to suck up or anything, but I've read every single Ridley book that I can lay my hands on. Kibby - do the libraries in Prague have a lot of English language novels? (I tried to search it online for Ridley's novels, but my Czech just isn't holding up to the challenge.. I couldn't find anything) I'll check my bookshelves and see if I've got one I can send you - I might have one or two of the earlier ones.

Bottled water? Check.

Ramparts? Check.

No feeding the natives? Check.

No pirate talk? Check.

No French jokes? Check.

Road Trip!!!

Kibby, you want to look for the early Ridley book where they take over a huge shopping mall.

And the Lou Boldt series.

"ribbit!"

Anonymous kibby F5 said...

English books in library's? HA! I'm lucky to find English books in a book store.

Me and Amazon have a close relationship. Except Amazon.uk considers shipping to Prague like shipping to Mars (PA). It's not part of "Europe".

... go figure.

... guess that would have been "deaf" - and here I thought I was SO GOOD ...

One of the books I ordered a while ago is "Peter and the Starcatchers," by the way. It will definitely be the first book I'll read whenever the order arrives!

7:12 AM
Anonymous Marie in Kourou said...

Kibby, I share your pain. You should be glad you're not farther away than you already are, though. Here the shipping charges are astronomical.

We don't pay tax, thank goodness, but a lot of the time the customs charges can be a pain in the arse.

/end whine

But I thank all that is holy for Amazon and the Fnac.

Blogger Slyeyes said...

Oh, road trip to Ridley's BLOG. No wonder he looked so surprised when I dropped in this morning.

Nice jammies, though.

Oh, and ribbit.

Did anyone think to pack the you know what?

I just finished Peter and the ShadowThieves. Now if they would kindly get another one published soon, I'd appreciate it. Not that I'm impatient or anything like that.

*sighs* I ~heart~ road trips.

7:30 AM
Anonymous kibby F5 said...

Sly, got the Leetie Head? Think it would REALLY shock him to leave a few staked about.

MiK, inside EU customs shouldn't apply to you. Does it?

Amazon just includes Czechs as "part of the rest of the world" when it comes to shipping charges. Even though their warehouse is probably in Germany. Many times my book prices DOUBLE because of the shipping. Dublin's cheaper.

LOOK! A toad!

Why does "kissing the frog" sound like a euphamism?

as we are currently taking the jaunting tour, hopping around all over the place on topics...

I just found a new author, Tim Dorsey, new book on paperback is Torpedo Juice (third in a series that starts "Stingray Shuffle"). The main character is a sort of Psycho-Spree Killer, social activist, in a sense. Made a mugger swallow a bunch of bullets and then put him into an MRI...

It was pretty sweet though, how the author had the cops coming up, finding the murder victim shot to death, obviously, but couldn't explain the lack of entry wounds.

Tim Dorsey "Torpedo Juice" named after a one part everclear/three part red bull Florida Keys drink...
