Animal Kingdom
In beginning my research for Kingdom Keepers #2, I discovered there's a character in the Animal Kingdom dressed up in ivy, who hides in the woods and pops out to visit park goers. Has anyone seen the ivy woman? Tell me about her, please!

Hey Ridley, when I went to Animal Kingdom last summer I saw the Ivy Woman. Tell me what you want to know about her and I'll post you the info. I love your books!
Hey Ridley, its me again, I have some descriptions of the ivy woman. She is covered with leaves and totally green. She doesn't speak, she hides in the woods and moves around so you know she's there. Post if you need any more info. I hope that helps!

I just went to Animal Kingdom in July, and unfortunately didn't see this Ivy woman...
Her name is DeVine. She is a cast member painted green and dressed up in ivy. She sits in a tree or near a wall, and doesn't move at all...
People are videotaping her as people walk by and think "Why is that guy video taping a tree?". Ask me for more questions.
Actually WDWfan is right when I went she moved around.

She is really neat and she does move to different positions but once in that positions she stays perfectly still. It is really neat.
Hi! DeVine is really neat! We saw her on our last visit and she was very active. She started by blending in with the trees, then she actally "walked" across the pathway (she's on leaf covered stilts) and even interacted with guests, specially with some small children who were very fascinated with her too. She was quite amazing to watch. We were on the path from Africa to Asia when we saw her....not sure if she "wanders" the park or not.
yeah, i went a long time ago, and i may be wrong about a few things, but she is basically a woman on stilts and she is covered with ivy and green clothes, as well as green paint. She even moves like the way you would figure a tree to move, if it could. When she is out in the middle of the street, she is very active and she very much pokes around, looks at people funny and seems as if she has never seen anything like us in the whole wide world. The way she acts, she gives you a fel that she is incredibly curious, and studious.

There is going to be a Kingdom Keepers two?! That is my favorite book in the whole world.
I have a very small mpeg clip of her and 2-3 pictures.....very very cool touch to add the disney magic.

The 6th or 7th picture might be mine and sent in by my fiance.
If you notice, there are 2 different women playing devine in that set of pictures.

Yeah, I remember exactly how I met her. I was about 7 when I first saw her. I was terrified of her because we were walking across the bridge (can't remember which one, there are so many) and there was this tree there. My mom was like "That's new.". I asked her how they grew a tree on the bridge. Me, my mom, and my dad stood there a minute looking at it to see how it was grown. Then, it moved! I jumped behind my mom and started crying, but my dad was able to get an autograph in my album. I believe she signed it is "Di Vine". (Get it? haha)
well i went over the summer and saw her walking along the path way i know she is silent and has curly hair that is made up of leaves and grapes
oh and when i first saw her she was on the bridge in front of the africa region
When I first saw DeVine I was like 6 or 7 I can't remember...anyway she walks around on stilts and "clings" to buildings and trees and stays there for a few min. and then the prosess starts all over again.
p.s. I love you're books there awesome
I'm heading back to Animal Kingdom on Friday. My first visit was terrific research, including staying with DeVine for a while as she moved about.

Just another tip, DeVine has a buddy. She/he hangs out in the Oasis before the park is open, after that she carts around the park talking to the guests. Her name? No clue, but shes a 4ft tall palm tree that talks and moves around. (like the talking trash can in the MK, if you've seen it) Look around her for a man with a cell phone type thing plugged into his ear, and he sometimes has a large duffle. (Thats the guy that is speaking for the tree)
oh! one more thing, theres also a guy (just like DeVine) called bird man. haven't seen him for a REALLY long time... so yeah...
bird man, thats interesting, what can he do? and does anyone know about this second tree
We saw DeVine at the Texas Renaissance Festival a couple of years ago. She was wandering not too far from the entrance to the park. She never spoke and could just blend into the ivy on the big oak trees. I once saw her scare the bejesus out of a couple who sat down on a bench to eat their turkey legs. They jumped out of their skins when part of the tree behind them detached itself and walked away!
