Ridley, who do you see as the Cardinals biggest competition for the NL pennant this year? I'm not very impressed by the Mets, but the Phils look very good. The Brewers could be a sleeper, and I think the D-Backs and the Padres will be very competitive.

I think it will be tough for the Cards this year, following the BIG WIN, but the town seems to feel we have all the stuff to make it down the stretch. I think around June we'll know who's serious. That's the trouble with baseball: too many games, too long a season. I don't get too interested until summer, and by then I'm not in St. Louis...

In a way I agree with you about the too many games but I love the game so I get as charged up for game 1 as I do for game 93. The biggest thing about baseball is making sure you build a team that can endure those 162 games. As much as I love the Red Sox I think this year they are in a little trouble. The bullpen looks week and Varitek is starting to slide. I don't think they have the arms in Pawtucket to fill the holes and they do not have a catcher to back up Varitek.

What does 103 million dollars buy you these days. Well Red Sox Nation found that out yesterday. Granted it was ONLY his first game and it was the Kansas City Royals but Dice K Matusaka was nothing short of brilliant. 10 Strikeouts and a couple of great fielding plays. He was everything they billed him to be. Lets hope its not just a fluke.

Hi Dean - finally got back to the blog board. Great weekend for the Red Sox - always wonderful to see somebody crush the Evil Empire. The White Sox are muddling along with one great highlight - Buehrle's No-hitter. Hope all is well. I'll be back later. TomN

Go Tribe! It is April 24 and my team is in 1st place ...with a defense ranked dead last. What is this depth of which you speak? We Tribe fans are enjoying it while we can; we know all about doom!

Hi Guys,
Sorry I have been unable to post for a bit and then I realized I had to set up a new acct. Damn computer age. I got to go (for free including bus ride& dinner) to see the Red Sox Yankee game when they hit the four homeruns. That was pretty cool. Although now it looks like the Yankee's have righted the ship.
Tomn, I think your White Sox are going to be fine too. The picthing will come around and there are a lot of teams they can beat up on.
Hope everyone is well. \

Well, the winter is almost over, just rented 3:10 to Yuma for an evening out of the cold, very nice flick. Anybody have a comment on this bloody saga? I still think Tomestone is better in terms of storyline, but the acting in Yuma is much more sureal.

Spring Training is happening for some teams, my Rockies are just weeks away from reassembly and Tuscon will be sending us news on the next world champs. The Boston 'Roid sox are living in the dark cloud of chemicals, ironic that Mitchell report is a Boston favored document?

I WOULD THINK ALL THE ROX WOULD AGREE TO FULL TESTING OF THE ENTIRE CLUB IN THE MILE HIGH AND PASS! -Helton, Holiday, and others look natural in shape and play considering the phoney attitudes and thick skulled and necked RAM MAN and BIGGER POPPY?

Do you remember all the crazy stuff like tossing helmets while running the bases?

"Roid Sox" is probablly an understatement in terms of funny training practices....

I miss the old day of mantle, bench, arron.... when it seemed men didn't have the attitude of today!

Kinda like Yuma movie, they respected each other for who they portrayed as people and not figures of heroic, media pandering, corporate icons....
