So do we have an official name or what? When my friend Eric interviewed you for our project, we kept arguing over the title; if it was "Rise of Chernabog,""The Second Server," or "Disney at Dawn."
Do you think that this book will be more popular than Peter and the Secret of Rundoon? Like, people's excitement level.
Kingdom Keepers II: Disney At Dawn is the title you can expect. And a terrific cover!
Have't checked Wiki, but will do so. I can say this: it's fiction; I can't always stick perfectly to the facts. That said, I do a LOT of research for these books, and certainly did so for KK2! R
I've looked all over the web, but I can't find that book cover! How did you find it, Cat? I'm sure it's not that bad. My background is the first book cover.
I don't think it's bad. Not entirely what I expected, but it's a really cool cover. It looks much darker than the first! I'm trying to figure out what's going on, though. Anybody have any ideas?
Yes, the cover is...different...but I like it. I was thinking the cover would be more like the first, so this surprised me, but I think I like it better. Plus, when we actually get to read the book, I'm sure we'll find that the cover suits it well?
I was hoping for more of a variation on the first cover. Like the Tree Of Life instead of the Castle, and the yeti chasing the 5 DHIs...
You should use that cover for the UK version. :)
And it is just that, for me, the type of illustration on that cover seems unusual and unattractive. It would be cool if you had Greg Call (is that his name? The illustrator for the Peter books) do the cover. He was really good in the other books.
About the KK2 cover. It's alright, not as good as KK. But, on a book shelf this cover will stand out and receive lots of attention. The first KK cover was more silhouettes, this one is right in your face. To me it doesn't capture Diney like the first cover. Sure we've got the castle, but it's a closeup.
Did Greg Call do the cover? Also, what are the chances of KK becoming a graphic novel? I can't think of a better book to get the Graphic novel treatment. What do you all think?
I like Hale@EMS's with the Tree Of Life instead of the Castle, and the yeti chasing the 5 Dhows. I was kind of hoping the second book's cover would be similar to the first book.
Artemis Fowl was pretty successful as a Graphic Novel I think... right? The Kingdom Keepers would be an even better candidate. It has that kind of... set up. You know?
I like the cover, speaking from a 19 year olds point of view (not exactly the Young Novels target audience), th e cover portrays one of the more curious aspects of a Disney profession, one thing I love about these books is it still continues to play on the fact that Disney World IS STILL a business, and even though its "magical" it still has business to take care of. Which is why the Tinker Bell flying gig works well on this cover, nicely done. I'm sure there were plenty of alternates, and the best one was chosen, clearly. :)
I think the cover is kind of confussing. Plus the way they draw Finn is uh . . . I mean, don't get me wrong! The KK books are awsome! Plus, I can't wait for the second book to come out. I read the first twelve times. But the cover could use some work. For one thing, make the cover like the original. Only instead of Cinderrella Castle, replace it with the Tree of Life. Second instead of the pirates chasing our heroes, make it a carnitouris from the DINOSAUR ride. Now I have some Q's. 1.)When does this book plan to release? 2.)Will Maulifecent return for revenge? 3.)Who is Charnabog? 4.)What rides will the DHI's go through? 5.)What do they have to find this time? 6.)Will there be a third book? 7.) If yes, will it be at Epcot? What villain will be in this book? 8.)What happens to Jez, Amanda, and Wayne in this book? Again, I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why does the cover look like that because it should be a picture of the tree on discovery island instead of the cinderella castle unless it involves like have the story in the magic kingdom then its ok but it should be the tree from animal kingdom and im about to jump for glee when it comes out i got the first book while i was in disney world in november and i have read it 9 times peace out
oh oh oh i know who the chernabog is he is from the 1940 fantasia movie and he is like a giant evil bat like spirit thing and it will realese on august 26 2008

Wootness!
Can't Wait!

(Sorry about double posting.)
Also, Ridley, what is your reaction to some of the mistakes in your book posted in the Wikipedia article about The Kingdom Keepers?
Yay.
Good to know you're not just leaving us with last summer's preview.

I saw the audiobook cover for KK2 on Amazon.
I'm sorry, but my reaction was :
What the heck?
Another comment on the Audiobook cover, no, noooooo, no. Bad dog!
So let me get this straight: you do, or do not like the cover to KK2???
Ridley

- Cool
I saw it on Amazon, search "Kingdom Keepers" and scroll down a little bit.
It freaked me out. I do NOT like it.

I'm guessing it's Finn on Tinkerbell's line for the fireworks show, and the Overtakers are going to extremes to stop him.

The only reason I don't like the cover is cause Fin doesn't look good in that cover. May the cover can have a better Fin?
I don't know why, but I don't like the cover that much and I think it show say "Kingdom Keepers: disney at Dawn", without the II.

so what will happen in future books with VMK gone now?

I can't think of a better book to get the Graphic novel treatment.
What do you all think?
I've been pushing for KK1 to become a graphic novel; Disney is still considering it. I hope they agree.
Greg did not do the cover of KK2, but he did a critical piece of artwork (the only artwork) INSIDE the book.
Maybe we'll have a cover contest for the second Steel Trapp novel -- Disney has suggested his possibility.
What's anyone think?

I like the type of cover form KK1 more with the shadows the KK2 copy looks sort of stupid to me.
omg! Yay! XD
