NOVEMBER 2001 NEWSLETTER Dear Friends: The Rockbottom Remainders tour (NY, Chicago, Denver) proved an enormous success. We raised a good deal of money for America Scores, managed to break Lou DeMeteis collarbone, and damage ear drums coast to coast. Author Greg Iles (Dead Sleep, 24 Hours) joined us on stage in New York. Check out the tour photos! Im consumed in writingtouch-ups to The Art Of Deception and gearing up for the Boldt novel of 2003. I play music again Nov. 17th (7PM, Bayside) with Dave Barry in Miami, at the Miami Bookfair. Scott Turow and Carl Hiaasen are joining us on stage as well as various pick-ups from the Remainders, including Josh Kelly, Kathi Goldmark and Erazmo Paolo. Producer Steve Crisman and I are working with Animal Planet (TV) to deliver a possible (documentary) forensic series involving the protection of wildlife. Steve produced the documentary on Alcoholics Anonymous for A&E, in 2000. Stay tuned. No news from the producers of Undercurrents (as a feature), Wishmaker Films. Im told I should be happy about that. (Theyre still trying to raise money.) Richard Dreyfuss new television show, The Education Of Max Bickford was "upped" for the entire season. Quite the accomplishment in this environment. Back to work: Ive got a deadline!
