JANUARY 2004 NEWSLETTER Dear Friends: For those of you who jumped on the bandwagon and sent Maj. Paul Dixon a letter or package, you made his, and my, Christmas. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Paul, unexpectedly, received a two week furlough, and was able to see his family over the holidays. NONE OF OUR SURPRISE PACKAGES had arrived when he left. So when he returned, he was inundated. See his wonderful response! You all showed the power of a loving gesture, and again, my deepest thanks. This was my most rewarding Christmas in years. Maybe ever. All thanks to you. NEWS: Dave Barry and I are closing in on completing PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS (Disney Editions, September 2004). We will be speaking together at the Book Expo of America in Chicago in June. We seem to be within days of getting the greenlight from Showtime for me to start the pilot script to The Culture. Developed with Kitty McCue and Judy James, and backed by Fireworks, I'm hoping we have a good chance to get on the air. The executives at Showtime seem seriously interested. The ROCKBOTTOM REMAINDERS, 2004 tour (October) is in the planning stage. ST LOUIS, DETROIT, CLEVELAND, CHICAGO. THE ANIMAL PLANET documentary is nearing the editing phase. Particularly excited about this project. We hope for an air date in the Spring. I'm charging ahead on the next thriller--to be completed in the next month or so.
