MAY 2002 NEWSLETTER This weekend I'll meet my fellow band mates: Dave Barry, Mitch Albom, Stephen King, Amy Tan, Scott Turow, James McBride for the 10th Anniversary performance of THE ROCKBOTTOM REMAINDERS. Saturday night, May 4th, at the Webster Hall, 125 E. 11th St. NY NY at 9PM. We're thrilled to be invited back by the American Booksellers for Free Expression. It's been a full month of writing, working to complete The Body Of David Hayes, due later this summer to my publisher. I'm having a ball with it. Television script writer Paul Gyot (Judging Amy) and I will be having dinner together later this month. Looking forward to that, as always. Producer Steve Crisman and I are making terrific headway on a number of documentaries and possible small movies for television. Talks continue. I think that within a month or so I'll be announcing (for real) the deal with Animal Planet that has been in negotiations for some time now. Webmaster Heidi Mack and family will be paying the Pearsons a visit at the end of the month. We expect loud screams from children somewhere within the house. David Thompson of Murder By the Book in Houston writes that my signing of The Art Of Deception is confirmed for early August. Houston will be one of only two or three signings I'm doing this year for AOD. Keep an eye on the appearances page for exact dates and times. I'm confirmed to participate in the Sun Valley Writers Conference, Sun Valley, Idaho for late August. (see: www.svwc.com) Dave, Mitch and I will be throwing a band together to perform on Main Street, Ketchum, as well. I have been unofficially invited to speak at the 2nd Annual National Book Festival, in Washington, DC, late September. Other speakers include Michael Connelly. With summer approaching, we're closing in on Parallel Lies in paperback and The Art Of Deception in hardcover.
